Responsible Drinking
Carlsberg UK is committed to the promotion of responsible drinking and ensuring that our consumers are fully informed when making their choice. Alcohol should be enjoyed in moderation and as part of a healthy lifestyle yet is still open to misuse. It is our responsibility as a brewer to deliver enough information through all available communication channels and drive home the message of sensible drinking.
Carlsberg UK are a committed and proactive member of the Portman Group, the industry's credible and well respected self regulatory body. This 'Code of Practice' delivers a platform to Carlsberg UK's responsibilities when it comes to the marketing and promotion of alcoholic drinks. As part of this partnership, Carlsberg UK also assist in funding the newly formed Drinkaware Trust, a charitable organisation set up to change the way people view and use alcohol, delivering clear educational guidance on responsible drinking.
The Portman Group's 'Code of Practice' applies to the naming, packaging and promotion of alcoholic drinks. It provides a procedural framework for influencing, regulating and controlling industry practice. The alcohol industry is committed to promoting its products in a socially responsible manner and only to those over 18. The code is therefore supported throughout the industry, including producers, importers, wholesalers, retailers and trade associations.

The alcohol unit information provided on this page shows the number of alcohol units per serving of Carlsberg's products and is provided to assist you in making responsible decisions regarding how much you drink.
The Department of Health advises that men should now drink no more than 3-4 units of alcohol per day, and women should drink no more than 2-3 units of alcohol per day. These daily benchmarks apply whether you drink every day, once or twice a week, or occasionally.
